If you are interested in the process involved in quartz worktops fitting and what the installation process entails, our handy process explanation will keep you informed of the general process involved.

The installation of quartz worktops is a specialised process and should be left to an experienced team that can achieve the perfect fit and end result.

There are several important stages involved in the installation process, which we will discuss in this article.

Quartz Worktops Installation Process

Before starting the quartz worktops installation process, a measuring tape is used to take careful measurements of the cabinets, sink spaces etc, which is then compared to the quartz worktops to ensure the worktops are the correct size for the kitchen countertop.

Once the measurements are correct, dry fitting the worktops on top of the cabinets is carried out. This is the process of placing the quartz worktops on top of the cabinets without any adhesives to ensure that the worktops fit correctly. Marking can be made at this point in preparation for the final placement.

Quartz worktops can be heavy and extreme care should be taken when lifting the worktops. It is best to use 2 -3 people when lifting the countertop and gently placing it with care. This will ensure the safety of the people doing the lifting, as well as the safety of the quartz slab and cabinets.

If the measurements are not correct and adjustments need to be made, the adjustments should be carried out by professional quartz cutting professionals that are experienced in making necessary adjustments.

If the measurements are correct, the next step is to proceed to meticulous preparation of the quartz. Caulk is a material used to ensure there are no air leaks and that cracks, gaps and spaces are sealed properly.

To ensure optimal chalking adhesion, thorough cleaning of the surface should be done. Once prepared and thoroughly cleaned and ready for final placement, adhesive solution and caulk is added prior to hoisting the slab onto the cabinet.

The lifting team should lower the quartz worktops carefully and slowly on top of the cabinets using the markers previously set. It is important to place the quartz worktops on to the cabinets while the adhesives are still wet.

After installation, any excess residue / caulk should be cleaned after installation to ensure a perfect final result.

Drying time can depend on the products used, but generally can take a few hours to set.

Once the quartz kitchen worktops are in place and have set and dried for the appropriate time, they will be ready to use. There is no need for any follow-up maintenance for re-sealing or installation for the future as the worktops once installed will last for many years.

The process we have outlined is a general quartz worktops fitting process and can differ according to current best practices and the individual situation.

Quartz worktops are a valuable investment for the kitchen and the home and careful installation by professional kitchen experts should always be carried out to ensure a professional installation.
